Aegee Firenze

Tuesday, January 5, 2010 - 1:25 PM | posted by admin

Here is the interview with Donatella Casale, President of AEGEE, which we will discuss the benefits and objectives of the association.

First of all, what is Aegee?

Aegee (Association des Etats Généraux des Etudiants de l’Europe / European Students’ Forum) is a student organisation that promotes co-operation, communication and integration amongst young people in Europe.
As a non-governmental, politically independent and non-profit organisation AEGEE is open to students and young professionals from all faculties and disciplines – today it counts 15.000 members, active in more than 240 university cities in 43 European countries, making it the biggest interdisciplinary student association in Europe.

What does it offer to italians and erasmus students?

It offers the chance to meet a lot of students like him/her , both italians as foreigners, have fun, travel around europe in a really cheap and funny way and first of all open their minds.

Does it offers chances to live Firenze in a different way?
Of course,at local level we organize language tandems like meetings every thursday in order to meet others students and make a language exchange, we organize also local trainings to involve young people to know Europe, European Insitutions and to be active citizens  in the society.
And of course we never forget to have fun , in fact we organize also international parties and trips.

” Can I be your bratwurst,please?”

Wednesday, December 9, 2009 - 11:02 AM | posted by admin

Florence 4th december

Yesterday is finished the fifth edition of the Florence Queer Festival, an international review of cinema and art on the lesbian, gay and trasgender issues. From the 11th november   to the 3rd dicember at the Odeon Immagine 6Cinema we could see more than thirty films (sometimes in European preview) to open our minds to a topic more relevant that ever.
Very interesting the retrospective about Rosa Von Praunheim, one of the most important exponent of the german gay culture, finished with the projection of “Can I be your Bratwurst, Please?” (USA, 1999), a little erotic comedy about cannibalism, starring Jeff Stryker, legendary pornstar of the ‘70.

Hilarious the gay parody about telenovelas, called ironically “Tlenovelas”, an Italian production, and beautiful the movie that follows, “Drool” (USA, 2009), a tragic-comic family history, where the father is a frustrated man who beats wife and children and the bride finds a randsom killed him by mistake (but not regret it) and falling in love with a black woman.
Then sold out and goodbye at the next edition!
